University Hospital Foundation Job Board
Funding Officer
Description
Our Background
At the University Hospital Foundation, we want to help people live longer, and better – especially those who would benefit from a new form of treatment, or life-saving surgery. As agents of hope, we boldly seek solutions to seemingly insurmountable challenges, matching the determination and purpose-driven intensity of the healthcare teams we support.
In the past ten years, generous donations from individuals and our corporate and strategic partners have contributed nearly $237 million dollars to advance world-leading patient care at the University of Alberta Hospital, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and Kaye Edmonton Clinic, as well as ground-breaking research at the University of Alberta.

- Funding Agreements & Compliance: Administer and monitor funding agreements, amendments, and related documentation. Ensure donor intent, funding restrictions, policies, and other requirements are understood and appropriately reflected throughout the funding lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong working relationships with applicants, funding recipients, health-system and academic partners, funders, vendors, and internal teams. Navigate both routine and complex funding discussions with professionalism, sound judgement, and a solutions-focused approach.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to strengthen funding processes, systems, data quality, and workflows. Bring forward ideas and recommendations that improve efficiency, decision-making, and UHF’s ability to understand and demonstrate the impact of donor funding.
- Team Contribution: Contribute across the full range of Funding Team activities, including analytical, administrative, transactional, system, reporting, project, and coordination work as organizational priorities evolve.
